Reply. after u have turned the engine off can u hear any air leaks , ie from air tank or around that area , if u lift the cover off the compressor and have a good listen. if in doubt use some soapy water. once the engine has been turned off and compressor stops running u should only hear a single hiss. 1.
Discovery 3 / LR3 Suspension fault. Jump Suspension fault. 6 replies 3 participants last post by LR3 Dubai Oct 27, 2012. L. LR3 Dubai Car started fine but noticed it had all sorts of system faults afterwards. Special programs not available & cant select any. Transmission range change not available. Noticed the hi range and low range lights are flashing. Also the green mountain symbol on left guage is lit as is the orange system fault symbol under the temp guage. The 2006 Land Rover LR3 has 10 NHTSA complaints for the suspension at 60,276 miles average. Suspension fault light comes on when driving. but when I put it in normal height, only the rear I have messaged AMK in regards to ordering a new compressor head and piston, but I am not holding my breath. I have found a place in the UK that has brand new AMK compressor for the D3/D4 for AU$518, just waiting to hear back about shipping. For now though, the rebuild holding. 4th August 2016, 04:23 PM #40. Grentarc. Preston Lancs. The supension indicator on the dash shows its trying to achieve normal height with the flashing light continuous at the second from top position and the continuous light on the lowest position.
If your vehicle is slammed, does not come up, has a very bouncy ride, suspension fault, falls overnight; then check out the video to fix it yourself at homeR
To check whether the issue is due to a leak, one way, is to. Raise the height to maximum or Off-Road. Remove the air compressor fuse and leave the vehicle parked overnight. This is done to disable the height adjustment mechanism that provides air to the strut from the reservoir.
Remove the air suspension relay and put a jumper in and pump it up to the height you want . The car must be running and whe you get to the height you want switch off and remove the jumper wire and the 60 amp fuse. The car will drive with out lowering. Look it is easy. Remember remove the fuse and the relay. I had exactly the same thing happen with my hitachi not a AMK it showed all the same signed you have. It faulted after 10 seconds of starting the car. It would fault after 20 min of driving same issue only normal height available. In the end I tried a rebuild of the compressor didn’t work. Replaced compressor all fixed no issue. Inside of 5 minutes the gong went off "suspension fault" and "normal height only". Problem is that the suspension software gets confused by the signals from the AMK compressor, reads it as running too long/overheating and then shuts the compressor down. As soon as I cleared the faults, whoosh and the car raised itself to normal height, only to This was the front left wheel so explains why I had the buzz mainly when this wheel was going over a bump. This is now fixed properly, so no more buzz, but the amber BRAKE light is still steady on. So looks like Traction control/EBD/EBA/ABS fault. I have now removed the fuse 26 so the suspension stays in normal height so I can drive.
