The M5 is the most practical and I'd argue easiest to work on, M6 coupe is the lightest and thus fastest, the M6 vert lets you listen to the exhaust most uninhibited. Regardless, 6 speed is the way to go. 07 E60 M5 6 spd, Silverstone II, Turner underdrive pulley, Scoops/filters/charcoal delete, Supersprint primary cat deletes, BPM tune / 12 E93
If you decide you like it/want one there are a bunch of threads for new ownership, common problems and fixes, etc etc. Regarding mileage the newest E60 M5 is getting close to 10 years old, vast majority are going to have miles on them. The car's overall quality of life and maintenance records are far more important than how many miles on the clock.
The problem could be because of a blown fuse on the central locking system. The fuse box is right behind the glove box on the BMW M5, so it can be easily opened by removing the cover on the left. The malfunction could be because the vehicle was within a radio inference zone.
Every common/known issue that can go wrong on the E60 m5. went wrong on mine. LOL @Garfunkgrin - Here it goes! LOL. Again YMMV. I may be representative of the extreme side of ownership of stuff to break/fail.-VANOS line/pump (more common in pre engine-update but mine was a 2008 LCI)-Oil cooler (weak neck broke, a new OEM was installed)

remove the seating in the back.go to the passengers side. open up the plate with 3 screws. then remove the ring counter clockwise. and then just look in to the tank.. iff the syphon pipe is not clicked in you will see it stick out. the main fuelpump sits in a housing . the syphon pipe has to be clicked in that housing.
BMW M6 share the same S85 V-10 engine under the hood. The M5 E60 is the only M5 to ever feature a V-10 engine. The M6 E63 also featured a V-10, using the same S85 engine as the M5. Despite using

Related failures, such as a broken timing chain or one that jumps a tooth are clearly a different issue and can cause significant engine damage.

Hello, I recently bought a US M5 2006 with smg tranny, I took the car to my bmw dealer to check the car before buying, they said the clutch needs to be replaced + PLCD sensor and maybe flywheel. I drove the car few days and then it was hardly moving, felt as if the clutch is slipping.

The E60 5 Series was offered with a plethora of engine choices ranging from 2.0-litre four-cylinders to the raging 5.0-litre V10 in the BMW M5 depending on the market. However, the majority of units sold here featured inline-six cylinder engines powering the 520i (later 523i), 525i and 530i variants.
Because M5 E60 is a rare car and in Turkey, the rarity adds up to the price a lot. If the car is bad, price will be ~$60K, when it's average condition that jumps to ~$90K . I also saw a listing that has a BMW which is at 60K miles and 2008, price was $120K. So in my latest calculations, building the engine from start costs ~$40K .
